Aren't these supposed to be red?

This one is decidedly orange; maybe it isn't a fly agaric (Amanita muscaria) at all; I'm not that good at determining mushroom species:


Olympus Stylus 1s, 220mm, ISO200, f5.6, 1/100s

It's pretty in any colour, I suppose, and very autumnious as well.

That looks like Amanira muscaria var. guessowii. That variety is more orange-yellow than the typical Amanita muscaria var. muscaria.
According to mushroomexpert.com:

[Amanita muscaria var. guessowii is] widely distributed in the northern Midwest (south to Illinois) and in northeastern North America (south to the Appalachians).

I've seen them red, orange, and even yellow. Nice photo!

Amanita muscaria could be just orange.
