Sunday pictures from a small town in Arizona-(artsy fartsy)
I was out for my morning walk this fine Sunday before the seasonal torrential downpours (monsoons) begin. This photo is of just a random storefront on Main Street. What is this about? I'll have to do a little asking around and I'll let you know in a future post.
Hopefully you can read this poster.
Here is a shot with the reflection of the sky with storm clouds (thunderheads) and myself.
This little town was the bootlegging capital of Arizona during the Prohibition Era.
What town in Arizona is that, is an old mining town maybe?
It is Cottonwood, Brian. There are hundreds of tunnels underneath this older part of town. It's very close to Jerome ( 5 miles) which was one of the biggest mining towns in the Arizona Territory of the late 1800's 'til the 1950's. I'll do a few posts soon on Jerome, AZ.
Do you ever do any gold detecting a metal detecting around those old mines? I'm going to look that up on Google maps.
Nope, I'm more of rock hound. Minerals, crystals, etc..
