Some of the collectors are attracted to her purple color and some are deterred by it.

In this case, I too find myself attracted to the purple shades and also the aromatic smell of this mushroom.

It looks kind of magical to me - but not in a hallucinatory way 😜

It is difficult to confuse this species with other kinds of mushrooms, except for the Lepista sordida which is also edible, looks similar (but less purple) and grows in the same places.

Lepista nuda is relatively familiar and there are Hebrew-speaking collectors who call it "The Purple Mushroom".

Although it is considered a high-quality edible mushroom, not everyone likes its taste and smell.

The kind of mushroom requires about 15-20 minutes of pre-cooking and the subsequent spilling of water.

It grows up in mixed groves, pine groves, eucalyptus groves and at the feet of Acacia saligna bushes.
