Gloeophyllum abietinum / Daedalea abietina 🍄 Another Tree Mushroom

in #photography5 years ago

This is another kind of tree mushroom, (much like the Tapinella panuoides which we spotted last weekend) @simba and I ran into in our searches for edible mushrooms after another "wet" weekend we got here in the north of Israel.

Its reproductive organs are perennials, so this mushroom can be observed in the same growth places for several years.

It is interesting to follow the changes in the colors of her reproductive organs in different seasons and weather conditions.

In moist conditions, the mushroom becomes supple texture, and the color turns brownish-yellow in warm tones.

In warm and dry conditions, it turns brown, dull, and brittle.
And the older breeding bodies sometimes become brown-black or black.

The breeding bodies of these fungi sometimes connect on their sides and form a long leaf-like structure that is firmly attached to its' substrate.

This mushroom is not edible

Enjoy!
