6 Reasons Why Must to do Kurban

A command from Allah SWT to his servant certainly contains the wisdom for mankind to race for good. Including in sacrifice. Before being commanded to the Prophet Ibrahim AS, the sacrificial orders have been around since the time of Prophet Adam. This is stated in Al-Maidah verse 27, "Tell them the story of the two sons of Adam (Habil and Qabil) according to the truth, when both offer sacrifices, they are received from one of them (Abel) and are not received from the other ( Qabil). He said (Qabil): "I must kill you!". Said Abel: "Allah only accepts (kourban) from those who fear Allah".

The sacrificial commands also came to the fifth prophet, Ibrahim SAW. At the age of 100 years, Ibrahim got a dream coming from Allah SWT to slaughter Ismail, the son of his highly anticipated birth. Dreams like this happen up to three times. Full of piety, both fulfill this command. Of course Ismail was never slaughtered by his own father.

'' So when they had surrendered and Ibrahim laid his son on his temple, (obviously the patience of both). Then We called him, 'O Abraham!' verily you have justified the dream ... '' (Surah As-Saffat verses 103-104). When the blade has been directed toward the neck of Ishmael, then Allah SWT replaces it with a large sheep.

The story and history that is now a wisdom why we should sacrifice. When the sincerity of the Prophet Ibrahim became proof of piety to Allah SWT, then that is what should be an example of all Muslim world. Here are six points of wisdom that we can take as a reason for sacrifice:
A Sign of Gratitude

First why should we sacrifice? Because sacrifice is a sign of gratitude to Allah SWT. Humans who dibei rizki more, should share to others who have not been lucky. One of them by distributing meat sacrifice. Not everyone can eat red meat.
Turning on the Teachings of Abraham

Second, to live the teachings of Prophet Ibrahim. In his story, Ibrahim and Ismail sincerely obeyed his commandments, even if they were difficult to accept with human reason.
Releasing the World

Third, it reminds us to let go of the worldly nature and what is most desirable. Because for many years the Prophet Ibrahim AS, waiting for the presence of the baby. But after being blessed, Allah SWT wrote another story. It reminds us that whatever we have is only His entrust and will someday return to Him again.
Sign of Taqwa

Fourth, the sacrifice is also a sign of taqwa to Him. Sacrifice is the worship of sunnah from the realm of alms. So for those who have been able to sacrifice, should do so.
Providing Benefits To Others

Fifth, the sacrifice has direct benefits to others. Sacrifice is not merely vertical worship, but also horizonal. Humans who sacrifice the same with the welfare of others. Even with sacrifice, we can also spread the brotherhood.
Being Gratitude for God's Favors

And the last or sixth, the sacrifice is a form of gratitude for the favors obtained as it has been said in Surat al-Kautsar verse 1-2: "Verily We have given you a river in heaven, then pray for your Lord and sacrifice." (Dompet Dhuafa / Erni)
