Original work - Bryggen: historic docks of Bergen, Norway

in #photography7 years ago

While traveling through Scandinavia, one of our stops was in Bergen. It was an amazing (though expensive).

"Bryggen, also known as Tyskebryggen, is a series of Hanseatic commercial buildings lining the eastern side of the Vågen harbour in Bergen, Norway. Bryggen has since 1979 been on the UNESCO list for World Cultural Heritage sites." - Wikipedia

They have been destroyed by fire multiple times, as they are all wooden (and sometimes quite bizarre to walk through with slanted floors and shifting walls over time)

The Inner harbor where the fish markets are under the red tents serving extremely fresh seafood.

And here shows most of the bryggen all the way down to the Bergenhus Fortress.

If you're ever in Norway, Bergen is one of the places you need to stop by on your journey :)

I loved the color contrast between the buildings, mountains and the blue surrounding. Should appreciate your photographic skills. Those photos are beautiful. #eyegasm

Thanks! A big part of getting that is using a high quality circular polarizer. I never shoot landscape without one if the sun is out. Extremely handy filter.

Can you give me some advices on how to take those kind of shots?

Man, that would be a pretty big tutorial, delving into many aspects of photography and angles/CPL use, maybe I'll find time to make a tutorial, but quickly, I'd saw find a cheap circular polarizer for your lens and start playing around, thats how learned :)

Love it - The houses remind me of the ones from my model railway setup I had as a kid. The air looks clear, clean and fresh too :)

Gotta see if you pop some photos of the food in too next time. Love seafood aha.
