Waiting for my Avacados to Ripen (Today's Photos)
I have an Avacado tree in a corner of my yard. Two years ago a crazy hailstorm hit during the flowering, so I had no fruits that season or the next. But this year I have been keenly watching a few buds become huge, and now I am waiting for them to ripen, so that I may finally pluck them.
Had to climb up to a precarious ledge to take these snaps today, so I hope you like it!

One of the best trees I know of. I grew up in the Caribbean surrounded by these, they get really big and will produce more fruit than a family can eat. Good shadow, good nutrients, strong and lasting tree. Avocados are a good investment, anyone able to grow them should.
Yes they are! Only problem I had was they used to attract a lot of pests, but with the application of a natural pesticide they are now fruiting. And it is a nutricious fruit. Thanks.
Wow check them!! Great pics too!! I wish we had the climate to grow an avocado tree!!
Thank You.
And yes, these trees seem to be very sensitive and will not grow in extreme climates.
you are very fortunate to have such a tree. Steem ON
Aha, the foresight of my father! The tree is almost 25 years now. Thanks!
I'd love to have an avocado tree, but I think it gets too cold in Melbourne. Avocados are $2 to $3 each in the grocery store.
They are expensive everywhere and my friends come over and zap it up before you can say avocado!
I have no clue as to the climate of Melbourne but maybe you could give it a shot and try. Thanks!
