Novgorod! The world's first international market without government was there! I'm sure even the ruins are gone now, it was sacked by the first government in power. Decentralized exchange and multiple blocks long and a threat to all forms of coercion.

Any reference to that now? Any evidence at all? I suspect not, no one would want to pax taxes if word got out that ancestors were able to live exceptionally well without an overlord.

Thanks for posting! That is the place in Rus that I most want to see.

weren't they Rus Vikings???

and i think they had a prince

Before Ivan(?) unified Kiev, apparently there was a non government market spanning a couple blocks. All wood, interior sales booths, when moscow was a still a forest. No king, no prince.

I can find a reference but its been a long day. If you respond, I'll dig it out.

Can’t say I’ve been to a Russian city. I’d love to visit one day, I love exploring in the cold.

Congratulation @nikitinskiy your post resteemed completed.
