Exotic car and a beautiful girl is always a winning combination
Sometimes you’ve got to take risks to get a nice shot. This is how this photo was made.
We have an old de-commissioned airstrip near to where I live. It’s technically open to the public but there is still an operational Police helicopter unit there and most hangars are no access zones. There was a sign on a hanger stating that it is under a heavy surveillance and we could see a bunch of CCTV cameras all around. But the temptation was overpowering. I think our goal here was fairly innocent and to be honest, I was looking forward to how the police would react to our photoshoot.
We did have to move some barriers around and open a heavy, rusty hangar door to get the car inside but I think the final result was worth it. As you can see, the sun was setting and providing a perfect lighting for the back wall. The interior wasn’t lit well, however, so I opted for 2 Speedlites to give me a better illumination for the model.
Out initial plan was to have 3 models but as it usually happens 2 model’s decided to cancel hours before the scheduled shoot. I think at the end its their loss. Thankfully, one girl was able to show up and we did end up going through with it.
As far as the car goes, I am not very knowledgeable on cars at all and some of the gear heads might be able to correct me but I am pretty sure this was 638 HP 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with 6.2 L V8 Engine. This thing is fast and loud.
