Soochow International Plaza Towers - Huzhou, China - スーチョー国際プラザ - 湖州市 - 中国

in #photography7 years ago

The Soochow International Plaza Towers are a pair of 50 story high buildings in Huzhou, a city west of Shanghai.
Each is an astounding 288m tall! Numbers 196,197 on this list of the world's tallest buildings.

The dwarf the tall apartment complexes across the street!
高いマンションでも小さく見えてしまいます!

I took this picture from a walkway on the above apartment towers at about the 20th story.

The last photo is amazing, the contrast between the city colors and the dark sky with the white moon.

Thank you very much, I am quite happy how it turned out!

This looks high. What is inside of the towers? Offices or are there also apartments inside? And can you climb them? From above you must have an amazing view over the city!!!

Anyways, nice pictures :) Like!

Thanks @cantdecide, the East tower is mostly commercial space, office and such. The West tower is residential and also has a hotel. Not sure about access but it would be a wasted opportunity if you couldn't. I'll have to try next time I go there.

Oh residentials and hotel sounds nice. I assume they have at least a platform then which you can use if you pay and you are right, it would be a waste if not. I really would love to take some pictures from above, it must be an amazing view.

great shots! following :)

Wow .. The tall building looks amazing. Made the atmosphere so lively. I really enjoy great photos from you. Thanks for sharing @mweich.

Yeah, bugs and buildings are great to photograph! People too but I need to do a bit more work there! Thanks for your support!

Hmmm.. I thought they should pinyin spell it to Suzhou.

Yeah, there are so many ways to put things into pinyin, it varies between different Chinese dialects too. After your comment, I looked it up, Dongwu is another way to write it. Perhaps it would be best just to use the Chinese characters, 东吴.

I thought they standardise everything. Well, learn something everyday.

It's quite interesting that Cantonese, Mandarin, and other Chinese languages (too different to call them different dialects) use the same characters, though Taiwan uses the older style characters, even if you aren't fluent in one language but are in another you can usually understand what is written.

I think most of time, it's OK. China uses simplified Chinese characters and Hong Kong and Taiwan use traditional Chinese characters. In Singapore, when Chinese is used, it's simplified Chinese. Anyway, most of the characters in the two sets are the same.
