The homes that wasps build for themselves out of seemingly weak materials, wood fibre processed into a kind of paper, are nevertheless quite robust.

This is the remenants of a paper wasp, often found under the eaves of houses, this partcular nest was built on the underside of a leaf.

Amazing. Never seen this before. Wonder how it's like when it's still occupied.
This type of wasp doesn't build walls around the nest so it'll look much the same, though with larvae in the cells and with a fair few aggressive babysitters too!
best avoided when occupied. :-)
