Old Garden Tree

While most Japanese houses that do have gardens have very small gardens, they are very well cared for and have a very different aesthetic than English gardens.
A great deal of effort is required to shape this tree, probably 15+ years old maybe more, into a smaller version of those that naturally look like this on the rocky coastlines of parts of Japan; and often featured in traditional art.
