First of all communicate with other Steemian by commenting valuable comments in their posts !
Create contents that are original ,give them your own words and explain them to the audience !
Share your feelings with others !
There are some apps that will help you get some followers
While people will upvote you only when you have a meaningful post ,it can be anything just be original and present it well.
And most importantly have patience and keep on going ,do not loose control !
