Skardu Desert

From plains to plateaus, from forests to glaciers, or from hot deserts to snow-capped mountains, Pakistan is a diverse country geographically. It is so diverse that it also has deserts with mountains surrounding it!

Near the Pakistan - China border lies a 3000 meter high desert. It's not like the Sahara, or the Gobi Desert area-wise but it is still quite a sight to see. It is the gateway to the highest mountains of the world.
