Lynmouth Beach, Devon (4 original B/W photos)

in #photography8 years ago

These photos were all taken on the rocky beach at Lynmouth in North Devon. When the tide is out there's a huge expanse of rocks and boulders to explore. Just be careful, because when the tide comes in, it does so very quickly and it's easy to get caught out. Luckily when I took these photos the tide was on its way out, so I didn't need to worry so much.

As the water recedes it leaves lots of shallow pools. Great for rock pooling, or just hopping between the rocks, using them as stepping stones.

2

Further up the shore there are huge boulders, with fascinating weathered patterns and markings.

3

This is the view looking down the coast to the east. The rocky headland in the distance is Foreland Point.

I dared to get a bit closer to the water's edge to get another shot of the wonderful rocks against the waves.

Nice views! It realy good in b&w!

Thanks! Yes, there was so much variation in the lightness of the rocks, it worked well in B/W :)

Great photos
