Visit to the VaticansteemCreated with Sketch.

Just wanted to share my experience of visiting the Vatican. Even though I'm a Christian and not a Catholic, I can still enjoy and sense the Presence of God both in and around this City.

From the statues of the ApostlesDSCN5631.JPG
Highly scattered around the courtyard. Many attribute the loss of the female disciple's statue to the reign of Constantine. Regardless, to stand where the Pope stands is quite amazing and apparently, he shows his face every Sunday after mass from the upper window.

This photo is where he addresses the masses though:

I would recommend a tour guide and although it did take around 3 hours and it can be tedious waiting for the tour to start, the information given about the history of the place is second to none. Alright, you might have done the Vatican without a tour guide but the information gained was amazing. Brain overload especially when being taught about the greek gods which adorn the halls, imagine that!

The overall view of this part of Rome was lovely and although the weather was unpredictable in April the queues were long enough in this popular destination.

If you love artwork, Christian or not, you would have to appreciate the amazing paintings on view here. The ceiling along the corridor from the Cestine Chapel to the main Vatican building is incredible too. The photo doesn't do it justice.

All in all, if you were like me and have been harping over wanting to go to Rome one day, I would recommend it to anyone.
