A place that seems to be partly detained by time, the population of Calkini in the State of Campeche with a half hour's distance to Merida, Yucatan, and half an hour to the port of Campeche, capital of the state of Campeche, this population has one of the first catholic monasteries founded in New Spain.

The population of this mostly Mayan town is dedicated to the countryside; in this place the customs acquired in the time of the colony and the miscegenation of Mexico, preserves several customs that many people astonish, due to the prevailing heat during most of the year people usually leave to work early 8 in the morning and pick up their houses around 3 o'clock in the afternoon when the temperature is quite strong, in this population after 3 o'clock in the afternoon the activity stops and they take shelter in their houses, sometimes almost all the year there are daily rains that raise the temperature and the relative humidity index of the region.

The population of this region as well as the great majority of the Mexican population manifest the Catholic cult, deeply rooted in the Mexican culture, so rooted that it has impeded the progress of many regions by the myths that people have learned.

Beautiful, looks interesting. Would be good to see more photos of various buildings in this city :)

This population is very small, I was working there for 6 years, the most relevant is the convent that exists there, in which there are some plants that already have several decades existing more than a century.

I'm sure there is plenty of stuff that can be photographed :)
