Torre Abate è un interessante esempio di struttura idraulica nel comune di Mesola, in provincia di Ferrara, nella regione settentrionale italiana dell'Emilia-Romagna. È una vecchia torre costruita nella seconda metà del XVI secolo su una pianta rettangolare con cinque aperture nel Parco del Delta del Po in Emilia Romagna.
È anche uno dei risultati più importanti dei lavori di bonifica effettuati dagli Estensi, quando la famiglia dominava la città.
La Torre Abate era un esempio di ingegneria idraulica estremamente avanzata e all'avanguardia ai suoi tempi e serviva anche a proteggere la tenuta Mesola che comprendeva i boschi verdeggianti ora parte della Riserva Naturale della Foresta di Mesola.
Ora è una destinazione turistica con cervi e caprioli, piste ciclabili e visite guidate, una foresta protetta e un'area di ripopolamento e rifugio per un certo numero di specie di uccelli migratori.
Cosa vedere: Torre Abate, Parco del Delta del Po dell’Emilia Romagna, Riserva Naturale Bosco della Mesola.

The Abate Tower (Torre Abate) is an interesting example of hydraulic structures in the municipality of Mesola in the province of Ferrara, in the Northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. It's an old drain built in the second half of the 16th century on a rectangular plan with five openings in the River Po Delta Park in Emilia Romagna.
It is also one of the most important results of the reclamation works carried out by the House of Este, when the family dominated the city.
The Torre Abate was an example of extremely advanced, cutting-edge hydraulic engineering in its time, and also served to protect the Mesola estate that included the verdant woods now part of the Mesola Forest Natural Reserve.
Now it’s a tourist destination with deer and roe deer, bike paths and guided tours, a protected forest and a repopulation and shelter area for a number of migratory bird species.
Thing to see: The Abate Tower, the River Po Delta Park, the Mesola Forest Natural Reserve.

Infatti.. io le definirei perle nascoste. Questa poi è immersa in un enorme oasi naturale che si può visitare in bicicletta.. uno spettacolo!
Ferrara è una provincia che mi manca...devo recuperare quanto prima
La città di Ferrara è molto bella, avrò scattato migliaia di foto e la provincia è spettacolare! Campi di girasole, località molto colorate.. ecco il colore è la cosa che ricordo di più (per citare Uri)!
Luogo splendido dove lo stile estense tipico del luogo si percecisce fortemente. A Ferrara e Comacchio il ruolo dell'acqua ha sempre caratterizzato molto il paesaggio cittadino.
