The History of a beautiful old House (my photos and story).
In my city, there are many old houses that survived even after the revolution, in which local merchants lived. Today I would like to talk about one of them. Photos I decided to make in black and white, I wanted to keep the old days in photography.
This house was built in 1906. The owner of the house was the merchant Konstantin Markovich Dunaev. At present, this house is a sample of old buildings and it is perfectly preserved to our times.
The house is distinguished by its beautiful decor. Everything is done tastefully inherent to that time. The whole house is filled with many small decorative details proportionately connected with each other.
The facades of the house and the window frames, as well as under the windows, are all decorated with beautiful carvings, which is a very laborious and hard work that is done just superbly and gives the house a special charm of antiquity.
The carving combines various motives, made in different techniques characteristic for merchant's time.
Until the end of 1919 the house belonged to the same merchant Dunaev. After that, the house became the center of cultural and mass political work.
In November 1968, the house of merchant Dunaev became a monument of wooden architectural construction. In 1980, the house was restored. At present the art school of arts is located in the house.
