HIKING the Waterfall Capital of the WORLD!!
According to The Smithsonian, a beautiful port city located on a watershed cavity, in Ontario, Canada is the "True Waterfall Capital of the World". That city, Hamilton, once known as "The Armpit of Ontario" due to its geographical location, mixed with the aromatics of MANY local steel mills, is now trying to take on those 156 waterfalls, taking the Smithsonian title, and running with it. Running as far away from the term "armpit of Ontario" as one would do in a city full of mixes and mingles of industry and nature. History and growth.
Growing up in this lovely city, I've had the pleasure of meeting many of these gorgeous beauties of "River Meets Crest" and as they transform into the new and true identity of the city.
Yesterday, a nice hike in the Dundas Valley led me to a waterfall, 3 actually, that I had never visited before. My mistake! They were all incredible, with a beautiful creek adorning the forests the whole way.
Up every creek, a mystery lies. And as statistics show, so does a waterfall, probably.
