Southern Tree Agama Lizard. 🦎🐊

in #photography5 years ago

Also known as the Blue Headed Lizard. This little guy is very common in the KwaZulu region of South Africa. They can be found in most gardens and have a beautiful colouring with vivid blue almost luminous head coloring.

They spend most of their time up in garden trees. During the day they love sun bathing and at night sleep in the bark of trees or bark ground cover. He has a cousin the ground Agama which is more brown in colour and slightly smaller.

They can become tame once they get used to an area if you dont disturb them. This one allowed me to snap away very closely with my camera and did not move at all. They do help keep all the other critters under control as they love to eat crickets, bugs, spiders, even eggs, etc.

They are gorgeous looking creatures and seem to love the attention.

Happy Thursday everyone. Find the beauty.
