Agama Lizard. 🦎
These guys always rock up when the sun is out and we have some blistering heat.
This one not as spectacularly colorful as his cousin the Blue Headed Agama, but still equally impressive and interesting. The colouring and texture is quite intriguing and plays a huge role in camouflage. When they are in the ground among leaves or sand or on the bark of a tree you can hardly spot them.
They stay completely still and they usually allow me to get very close when taking the pics. Theu tend to be fairly used to humans so they can almost be coaxed into a short photoshoot. Allowing you to take some nice close ups while they soak up the sun.
They found around KwaZulu Natal in Southern Africa and are quite common. Each one tends to have its variation in character, so always nice spotting one and attempting some photo op.
Have a stunning weekend everyone. Find the beauty.
