Time to say Goodbye
It was great having you here, you my Winter Wonderland
But the last few days have shown clear hints, it is time to separate. The blue sky we had the last three days was just a short intermezzo and this weekend your are rising up once more, but it is clear they started giving you the count. Everyone could feel that, even though nobody dares to speak it out aloud.
The white giant is still omnipresent and we can't really imagine that you might be gone in a few weeks. You gonna pull back little by little but you will be able to find yourself some refuges, where you can stay and survive a little longer. In the distance you will still be visible, but the day will come when all the people will start talking about you, like you were just part of an old legend.
But I will anticipate the imminent farewell, I will leave YOU! It will be like cold turkey, or in this case maybe even a warmer one. I am going on a journey and will leave you just behind.
It is for sure, I will always keep you in my memories and who knows, we might meet again some day. It is not that unlikely at all.
As the people say, it is not your first appearance.
Zeit Abschied zu sagen
Schön war es mit dir, oder besser in dir. Du mein Winterwunderland.
Aber die letzten Tage haben es schon angedeutet, es ist Zeit zu scheiden. Auch wenn der blaue Himmel nur ein kurzes Intermezzo gab und du dich ab diesem Wochenende noch eimal richtig aufbäumen tust, du bist angezählt. Das konnte jeder spüren, auch wenn es noch kaum einer laut auszusprechen wagt.
Der weiße Riese ist halt noch allgegenwärtig und so recht kann man sich das gar nicht vorstellen, dass du in ein paar Wochen kaum noch zu sehen sein wirst. Du wirst dich zurückziehen und dir ein paar Refugien suchen, wo du dich noch ein bisschen länger halten kannst. In der Ferne wirst du noch eine Weile zu sehen sein, aber bald werden die Menschen von dir nur noch sprechen, als wärest du Teil einer alten Legende.
Diesem Abschied werde ich zuvorkommen. ICH werde DICH verlassen, kalter oder in diesem Fall vielleicht sogar warmer Entzug sozusagen. Ich gehe einfach auf eine Reise und du bleibst zurück.
Aber ich werde dich in ewigen Erinnerungen halten und wer weiß, vielleicht sehen wir uns ja eines Tages wieder. So ganz unwahrscheinlich ist das ja gar nicht. Du sollst ja nicht zum ersten Mal hier sein.
Yes I am going to miss seeing all those places being covered white, the atmosphere in my city was partly more intense and more Japanese than ever before.
Ich werde es vermissen, dass alles hier mit einer weißen Decke bedeckt ist. Die Atmosphäre hier in der Stadt war teilweise intensiver und japanischer als jemals zuvor.
The snow is so heavy that even when sliding down it will keep sticking together, moving the icicles in quite a unique position. Looks a little freaky, like the teeth of some kind of snow monster slowly creeping around the edge.
Der Schnee ist hier so etwas von nass und schwer, dass er selbst beim Runterrutschen noch zusammenklebt. Die Eiszapfen schiebt das in eine interessante Position, es sieht ein bisschen aus wie die Zähne eines Schneemonster, dass langsam um die Dachkante gekrochen kommt.
This year's snow was that much and heavy that people had to go on their roofs to clear them off. Apparently there are quite a few accidents happening every season, I'm glad I could avoid to go up. But on the second floor, we already had problems opening the sliding doors.
Der Schnee in diesem Jahr war so viel und schwer, dass die Menschen auf die Dächer mussten um sie von der Last zu befreien. Anscheinend gibt es dabei immer ein paar Unfälle, aber mir blieb der Weg nach oben zum Glück erspart, obwohl wir im ersten Stock bereits Probleme hatten, die Schiebetüren zu öffnen.
After the sun came finally out, it only took a few weeks, everything looks much better but it is also a clear sign that we are going to change season too. I'm escaping for a while but I will be back when the sun and the smell of spring will completely have taken over.
Nachdem die Sonne endlich mal wieder raus kam, hatte ja nur ein paar Wochen gedauert, sieht alles schon viel besser aus. Ein klares Zeichen, dass sich die Zeiten hier ändern werden. Ich flüchte trotzdem für eine Weile und wenn ich dann zurück bin, werden die Sonne und der Frühling die Herrschaft übernommen haben.

Your image is beautiful! It's good to see pictures form such a snowy place. I've never seen snow is real life. I live in Australia so it is quite hot and humid at this time of the year
I heard there is even a ski resort in the south eastern area of Australia. Most be fun to go there
Yes there are a few ski resorts further south from where I am but have never gotten around to going down that way. It's on my list of things to do though! A very long list
