RE: Harsh Lighting vs Soft Lighting - Real Live Demonstration & Explanation

in #photography6 years ago

Actually the best angle to record face is around 45 degree, it gives little of shadow on your face but not too much. When you're recording in harsh light you can easly get overexposed face, or if you record with the sun behind you, you can just be black.

So actually it depends of what effect you wanna get :)

Sort:

The "best" angle is kind of subjective depending on what you want to do or express in the photo/video :)
You can avoid overexposure by using an ND filter. You can record with the sun behind you and avoid a silhouette (like I demonstrated in the video) by adjusting for the shadows as I demonstrated :)

As I said at the end of my comment "depends of what effect you wanna get" :D

And yes, ND can be a solution :D

Don't get me wrong, I didn't want to say that what you said is not true, just wanted to add something more which is getting right angle for right situations. I mean you don't want to do happy content with black face, or dark mooded video with totally bright light :D

What I want to say is that when you want to go level up with creating you have to start understanding better certain things, which I think was your point too, right?

Yeah totally! :) just saw your page. Great photos and videos! Definitely "when you want to go level up with creating you have to start understanding better certain things" -- exactly what my point was :) :)

Thanks! Sorry for there was any misunderstanding :)

Oh thank you :) actually I subscribed you, even if you do some posts or techniques that I know something about I think it will be good for me to see your point of view, so no matter what you're doing good job in here, who knows, maybe one day we'll have opportunity to do something together :D

Yeah you never know! Where are you from?

Poland here, and you? :D
