A remarkable spectacle. Truly astonishing. Bodies are cremated here. One by one every few minutes, a new body was added. Death is a part of life, and it is very open here. The smell is intense. From up close you are not able to take any pictures or video, but from a distance, you can. This is a zoomed photo serie of the event.
I went there years ago; very strange atmosphere. India is such a fascinating country.

Really an interesting culture. But India is a country with a lot of inequality, where almost all people live in poverty.
However, a great country to visit and get to know other cultures.

well said @hanen! India is an amazing country. As a film maker I love its culture, rich heritage and wild life. A great versatile land ......temperature ranges from -30 degree centigrade to +50 degrees. A very colourful country indeed!

Tremendas las tomas a pesar de ser distantes.
Cuestión de culturas.
Una vez el cuerpo llega a la orilla del río Ganges los sumergen con la finalidad de purificarlos.
Utilizan cerca de 300 Kg de leña y hacen una pila en y colocan el cuerpo para cubrirlo también se cubre con leña a la que se añade madera de sándalo para dar buen olor.
Listo para su reencarnación.
