Hapalopilus nidulans - A one-year-old mushroom, arboreal, anemone. In the shape of a semicircular, consolate, kidney with a narrowed, swollen and convex root in advance, widely adorned; sometimes it spreads out - bent or resupinated. It can grow individually or joined sideways into longitudinal rows, or tiled. 20 to 90 mm long, 20 to 40 mm wide and 10 to 30 mm thick. Surface slightly youthful at youth, later naked, uneven, pitted, dull, unframed. The colors are flesh-colored, ochraceous, fawn, clay-brown, cinnamon-brown, orange-cinnamon. The shore is dull or sharp, sometimes slightly wavy, discolored after compressing.

Single-layer tubes. Color: dirt, brownish, cinnamon, on the inside longitudinal in whitish, thin-walled. Lengths 5 to 15 mm.

Pores of dirt-colored, yellowish, brownish, cinnamon, sometimes fawn. Round or angular in shape, often elongated, uneven, irregular in time. Diameters 0.3 to 1 mm.

The flesh, such as the surface of the fruiting body, can be a little brighter. Fibrous, soft, juicy, slightly brindle, when dry corky and brittle. Under the influence of the bases, it quickly turns purple or gray-colored. The smell of delicate anise, the taste is nothing distinctive.

Occurrence: In deciduous and mixed forests, on dead or dying branches or trunks of deciduous trees, very rarely on conifers. From July to October, common.

Value: Toxic mushroom. It causes damage to the kidneys and liver.
