Zurich - Nurnberg - Amsterdam; photographic memories from a road trip by @mariandavp

in #photography8 years ago

When I was a Groupie - well that's catchy and quite humiliating way to start a post but unfortunately the truth is a much more boring one and doesn't serve the turbulent image of my Steemit avatar - I got to do a road trip with a Greek band (an artist and his supporting band).

We had a van and managers and cameras and everything and roamed around Europe to give concerts to the Greek communities living in various countries. It wasn't as fun as it may sound, because it was all work and stress and extremely intense, but it was definitely interesting to meet all those people that have immigrated during the crisis and of course see Europe at once.

Amsterdam will always be one of my most beloved cities, however Nurnberg was also a beautiful surprise. The locals in Nurnberg weren't all too excited with the idea of having Greeks around, but given the propaganda they have suffered all these years against us, it is sort of understandable!

Below are some photos I took from the Zurich - Nurnberg- Amsterdam leg of the journey and a youtube video from our stay in Nurnberg .

Sort:

It would be interesting to locate the photos

You are right I got lazy. The 1st is Nurnberg, outside Ehemaliges Reichsparteitagsgelände (Former Nazi Party Rally Grounds), 2&3 Zurich downtown, 4 Nurnberg city center, 5 Nurnberg inside St. Lorenzkiche, 6-12 Switzerland road trip to Germany, 13-15 same place as 1, 16-29 various places in Nurnberg but mainly in the area of the Imperial Castle, and the last 7 photos are from Amsterdam. Totally unnecessary what I just did, I could have written in the post but whatever :)

Very nice pics @mariandavp! I got a great sense of the city and the wonderful architecture...Thanks:)

What an adventure, are we going to hear some more about your rock and roll days? 😉

Would be cool but my Mom is on Steemit too... never too old to get censored by your mother!

Your mom is too cool for that!

She is, that's true but still she is a Greek mother lol!

Thanks for the beautiful photos of the city. Really get a great sense of what it is like from my amchair of travel ( : The work may be hard, but looks like you get to see some wonderful places.

And after going to many concerts over the years, and waiting around after as a confirmed people watcher, it does ring true, the folks supporting the band/group work really hard, all in the background and long hours. The bottom of the pyramid holding it all up. Thanks for sharing.
PS. Had a short chortle w/ the pigeon fencing...but a great and necessary idea.

Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed this! I am not doing this anymore and I was just doing this to assist my friend more than anything else, but it is true that the management team bears the burden from setting up a concert practically and financially. You may be doing data analysis, marketing, PR, cleaning up and cooking too. But when things go well and people sky rocket it is a wonderful experience :)

Yes, I would think the people interaction part would be the best part of the whole shebang, and the part most missed once done.
