TELEPHOTO * MAGIC
Getting a picture through a fine chain linked fence is doable with a telephoto lens. The mesh on this fence is no more than one inch / 2.54 cm across.
The telephoto is a 70 - 300 mm nikon lens on a nikon D3500 camera. The picture above is set at the lowest range of 70 mm.
As I start to zoom out, the fence starts to disappear like magic. I am in the same spot just engaging the zoom.

At the full range of 300 mm the picture is sharpe with no sign of the fence mesh. But the mesh is there non the less.

Oh, I never got to Orient/Greenport this summer. The relatives came to see me. Nice shot and fair play with the fence.

A cool way to show how this effect works, I just took some shots through a fence the other day with a plan to do a similar post, will hold of on it for a little while

That was a great demonstration @manorvillemike and I love the photos you got!! I just bought a used Nikon P610 online but if I were to get another one then I would def check out the D3500. 😉
