Visiting Dracula!

in #photography7 years ago

Familiar story: moonless night; the whistling wind; a deserted abandoned road. Wandering girl. In front of her huge iron gates and Park, and in the distance can be seen a medieval castle. The girl opens the gate, enters the Park and goes to the castle. The massive door opened itself, and she sees... Welcome to visit Dracula! I hope you weren't scared? :)

Did you know that he really existed? Indeed, there was a man named Dracula (actually Dracula Prince). A vampire he certainly was not, but with the man's head was clearly having trouble with. His name was Vlad III the Impaler. He lived in the 15th century in Transylvania. Nickname Dracul means with room. Dracul, meaning "devil" or "dragon". He was cruelty; his favorite activity was the execution, especially the count.

We decided in our next visit to Hungary and visit to Dracula. One of the castles where he lived, is in the city of Visegrad. From Budapest you can reach it several ways. We chose the train and ferry. And I was right! Train in Hungary is very cozy and clean; we arrived quite quickly. The ferry had waited for us. Crossing to the other side was the whole event (before, we never on such ferries did not go). The view was on the Danube river and the castle high on a hill, is simply stunning; with weather to us has carried.

Once safely across the river, we began climbing. The castle is situated, as I mentioned, on top of a mountain (Yes, you saw that yourself in the above photos).

We climbed for about an hour. With each new turn of the path was open with beautiful views of the city and the Danube. Sometimes the path crossed to the stairs, which gave the opportunity to relax worked muscles.

Constantly met signs for the castle, so get lost we could not :) the Last part of the path went sharply uphill; the gradient became steeper.

In General, despite the fact that we are not sedentary and do not go on direct streets, to the castle we have not entered, but rather dovrolis sweaty and falling down, and collapsed on a bench near the ticket office (fortunately it was there) :) If you are an avid "walkers", think a hundred times whether to go to the castle you walk or drive (such a possibility there too).

A bit catching his breath and recovering, we paid the entrance fee and moved on. From the top at the foot of the castle offers amazing views. The castle produces a somewhat painful impression.

Next time we will go into the inner halls of the castle. See how settled in they Dracula Prince; what he ate, how fun and how was his farm. You will be able to see his servants and warriors of his household. If you are interested, don't miss the next post!
I wish you a good mood !!!

I always enjoy your posts bro

Hello! Very nice pictures and story.
Although this badass count was imprisoned at Visengard, he spent 10 years there in confinement, far from his homeland ... as a political prisoner for King Matthias Corvinus.
I look forward to seeing your next post!
