African attire: My Sunday outfit
My Sunday morning in images
This was my outfit for church today, had no idea that I was gonna wear this because I had already picked out something else to wear the night before.lemme tell you abit about my attire
The top,is made from a lace material, and the style was made by a local designer. In Nigeria, the style is called a mama's blouse.Initially the styles were made for the elderly women, they wear it to occassions and local meetings, but as of now,the young ladies are adopting it as part of their clothings, the lace material can also be used to make gowns or skirts,it's also used by the every Nigerian bride for their traditional marriage.
The piece below is a suade material,I could have easily converted this to a short gown but I decided to use it as a wrapper instead. This material has been around for a long time,i think far back as the 60's,as a kid we called it Akwa-ochie,because of the feeling it gives when you run ur palm trough it.my head turban is also made from same material.
My jewelry is made of tiny silver stones which matches with my wrists watch and the shoes.I had specially picked out the shoe because its comfortable and I wouldn't have to hold anyone while walking (smiles).
Proudly African
Just Beautiful 👏
Thank you
