Walking across the whole of England
So a few weeks back, I decided to walk across the whole of England, it took 16 days to walk from the West coast to the East coast.
The walk began in the scenic Lake District at Saint Bee’s Head.
It’s tradition for people making this track to grab a pebble from the beach and dip your toes in the ocean.
There were many fantastic Mountains, hills, valleys, fells and Moor’s to be traveled upon to complete the journey.
Many beautiful water crossings and waterfalls were navigated
There was an occasional sign post :)
And many scenic roads, bridges and paths
Some of the locals came to say hello
After 16 days of walking, my feet hurt, but it was soo worth it!. The walk finished in Robinhoods bay (West side of England), where I threw my pebble into the ocean and dipped my feet for a well-earned rest.
For those adventurers out there I encourage you to attempt the walk as well.
Be warned though, the conditions can be tough especially during wet summers – a couple of cryptic warnings:
1) A local told me approx 30 people a year die making the attempt (half is due to heart attack).
2) I meet a couple making the attempt whom said, while it’s much less in distance then the Camino in Spain, the track is much more difficult and they were struggling to complete the crossing.
If you liked my post, please comment and upvote – lotsa Steem would help me to purchase some stuff for a future adventure to share.
Cheers
