Voyage in South Norway

in #photography7 years ago

I would like to post some photos i have taken around South Norway, maybe IT Can inspire you the same way it did me.

Lista lighthouse is 185 year old, 34 meters, made of granite, and the only one left of the original 3 lighthouses in this area.

I didn’t find the lighthouse in it’s self that special, magnificent, or whatever, you can probably just google it and see for yourself, but the view from the top (130 steps) of the coast can be brutal but beautifull. Still, often forgotten, in the opposite direction, inside one of the lower levels, there is one window that just struck me as eye catching . So I took this picture from inside one of the Windows from Lista Lighthouse.

I love it :) maybe not much you would say,but still I could find my mind wander off when I sat there watching...

What makes this building special and worth a look if you are in south- Norway I think is the following facts:

  1. The lighthouse is quite distinctive in Lista’s otherwise strictly flat landscape
  2. it’s bounded by a stone rocks as you can see parts of in the picture.
  3. the Lista coast is Norway’s biggest shipyard. Almost 400 accounted for. There are strong currents in shallow areas and this resulted in many shipwrecks. Also there are very few opportunities to search for a harbor in the area.

Consider this area if you’re close
