Post-trip photo sharing (VI)!
At the night market, my mum was busy finding T-shirts to buy, while I'm trying my best to figure out how to capture okay photos in the dark without a night mode enabled phone camera...
This is the Malioboro street, and according to the travel plan, we'll be having our dinner here and do some shopping in the night market here. This shot is taken from the restaurant in which we had our dinner for that night, it's at the 3rd level of the building so we had a pretty nice view of part of the street from the top :)
Over here you can find a bunch of souvenirs, T-shirts and other little useful things such as stationary bags that a tourist might feel interested to bring them back to their home. It's the only shopping spot we have in our travel plan, so you know what my mum's doing...get those shirts home! It's like a family tradition, we buy T-shirts no matter where we go.
...of course we aren't buying that much! It's also worth noting that shirts here seem to be cheaper than what we have here in Malaysia. Apart from these selling by the roadside, you can also choose to visit the ones in shops too, they're also on the same street. Not much difference overall but you have more chances to bargain!
This side's for the food. We didn't walk over there to know what there had, maybe next time...
We didn't reserve space for them as well!
Another attraction of the street, you can ride on these carriage for a fee. They bring you all along the street (that's what I saw...we aren't too interested in overall so we skipped it, lol) so that you can have a quick view of what's around and of course enjoy the overall atmosphere. Not an overly sweet place, but I imagine that it's not hard to lose yourself in a rain of beautiful thoughts riding through the street.
It's actually a pretty beautiful street and I sincerely think that we allocated too little time here...personally I will want to walk from the start to the end on foot exploring every little detail I can get there. With the amount of people there, there's a lot to learn and find. Maybe next time?
It's also pretty noteworthy that this street has the only McDonalds and Burger King outlet I find throughout the trip...maybe it has something to do with the fact that every place we go are like mountains, mountains and more mountains? But if you ever feel homesick and need something more general, this street has what you need :)
This ends our super hectic schedule for the second day...we were physically dead (though not literally) on our beds once we reach the hotel. Tomorrow's trip is under comparison more chill and relaxing (although the travel distance is horribly long...) to the mountains and a volcano. Look forward to the next post :)
See you around,

It is always fun to travel together with loved ones, the experience and memories created....will be the spectacular ones, and oh, of course the tshirt too. =)
Yes, that's why I was so excited to finally be able to travel with my mum...ever since going to university our holidays never matched, lol!
That looks like a fun place. I hope that you had fun bonding with your family. Thanks for sharing this with us :)
Most of the times, as long as you're with the right people, every place feels fun! :)
I really like the cover photo!
Cheers,
Peter
Glad you liked it!
