Post-trip photo sharing (III)!steemCreated with Sketch.

Okay, let me just do a little bit of truth-telling here...

When I checked my photo album for today's post just now, I realized that if I follow the chronological order to post the photos as planned, I won't be able to slot in any food photos in this post (unless I make it 1000 words - which is what I'm trying to avoid!). But, I accidentally said something about "food" in my post yesterday, so I'll just break the order for this post and let those yummy stuff come in...

These are taken at the second attraction spot of Day 2, in which we went to some place around Merapi for their Jeep tour. Yes! A tour on a Jeep, all the way to photo spots (yes, again) in which we can see the volcano and some museum-like houses preserved after the last eruption, and lastly end the tour with a crazy adventure drifting the Jeep across a dirt and water filled land...

Well, not really drifting, but he almost did. We stopped him before he made all of us wet.

Oh, where are the photos, you ask? Because 1. I was too carried away on the Jeep when we were in the adventure, 2. the sky is too cloudy that day so we couldn't see the volcano at all...so of course the photos look pretty meh there, and lastly, 3. yes, I got carried away in the preserved house, too.

But of course, I said I made this post for the food...

Here you go. Satey, except that it's mushrooms instead of meat! Yes, mushrooms. And it tastes wonderfully marvellous. I never thought that the texture of the mushroom will suit the satey that well, but now I really hope to know what mushroom they used for this so that I can make it at home!

"Soto ayam". Something we never had here, but at first sight it looks like the cellophane noodles (冬粉, "dong fen", a kind of noodles normally prepared for the sick in my home, although I'm not very sure why...). It actually tastes pretty well and the soup is tasty and flavoured enough (cooked with chicken) to make it feel totally different from what my impression first gave me.

Then we requested for some mixed vegetables, because that's my family, we can't live without veges :)

Bringing them altogether!

That's not all...

That's a roasted duck, and the white bunch of stuff beside is a lettuce (someone once told me that it looks like cream..). Tastes good, but all I remember from this photo is of course the "sambal" (see the red sauce there?). For me that's the main spotlight of the table, I literally covered my rice with that because it's just amazing, lol.

I was actually quite hyped for the small green chilli beside, but my mum was there to stop me from doing stupid things... in the end I managed to sneak one into my plate, but it comes out to be not spicy at all. Slightly disappointed, but I guess it's luck saving my mouth.

Alright, so when someone asks me about the trip to Merapi, I'll just tell them about the food because that's what I remember and love the most... nah, I still have slight regrets of not taking pictures of the area the Jeep used for the adventure, but that gives me the reason to go there for a second time :)

This marks the end of this post then! I'll bring out the photos for hill we went that morning on the next.

See you soon,

The food looks delicious!!! I am glad that you took a food pic break. And when you figure out how to make the mushroom dish, I sure hope that you will share it!

Err...that feels pretty hard considering my daily schedule, if we can have 40 hours per day, then maybe... hahaha

-lol- You mention food and we ALL want to see!

Yeah, I knew that food posts are loved most of the times... :P Even I like to read them, hehe.

I would love a sate right now

Same, wonder where I can get some...

Or we can just get those sticks and prepare them ourselves :3
