In the southern hemisphere, it is said that September, being the month of spring, is also the month of flowering, of colors, of new beginnings.

En el hemisferio sur, se dice que Septiembre, por ser el mes de la primavera, lo es también del florecimiento, de los colores, de los nuevos comienzos.

If we refer to the etymology of the word "spring" we will discover that it means something like "first greenness", which makes us think that after a harsh winter, it is logical to be happy to see the first shoots in the trees. In this season, besides growing and blooming the plants, the days are longer, having more hours of light, therefore more warmth in the environment. Consequently, usually associated with the month of spring with joy, as there are scientific studies that prove that due to the increase in daylight there is an increase in the production of the hormone called serotonin, which influences our mood. This hormone, it would be responsible for us to feel energetic and cheerful, especially in the spring.

Si nos remitimos a la etimología de la palabra "primavera" descubriremos que significa algo así como "primer verdor", lo cual nos hace pensar que después de un invierno crudo, es lógico alegrarnos inmensamente con ver los primeros brotes en los árboles. En esta estación, además de crecer y florecer las plantas, los días son más largos, teniendo más horas de luz, por lo tanto más calidez en el ambiente. En consecuencia, suele asociarse al mes de la primavera con la alegría, ya que hay estudios científicos que prueban que debido al aumento de las horas de luz se produce un incremento en la producción de la hormona llamada serotonina, que influye en nuestro estado de ánimo. Esta hormona, sería la responsable de que nos sintamos enérgicos y alegres, sobre todo en la primavera.

Este fenómeno, como la mayoría de los fenómenos de la naturaleza, ha sido observado por nuestros ancestros y ha adquirido diferentes significaciones dentro de las diversas culturas, pero siempre tuvieron como denominador común las ideas de iniciación, de renovación de energías y de equilibrio, acompañadas de rituales y ofrendas a la naturaleza y a diferentes deidades.

El punto en común del valor simbólico y cultural que se le ha dado desde siempre, se puede resumir en la representación del "momento de despertar". Se habla metafóricamente de abrir lo ojos, de ver más allá, quizás no tanto para afuera, sino internamente. Tal vez se trate también de resignificar(nos) la primavera, de marcarnos un comienzo, un punto de referencia para iniciar nuestro transitar en el mundo, más conscientes del otro, y de todo lo que nos rodea.
