Parisian Scenes - Day 22

In Paris, we're currently having our annual heat wave. In general, it's not that bad, usually lasts 2-3 weeks and then it goes away. However, during this time of the year you really don't feel like "it's not so bad". Basically, we have the same temperatures as they have in the middle east now, only with much more humidity, and no air conditioning to compensate for it (why is there no air conditioning in Paris, because of municipal regulations saying you "can't harm the facade of the building" - even if it was built in the 1970 and looks like a communist cube (like my building, for example. And maybe this can be the reason, too).

Anyway, when it's not too hot (in the mornings and the late evenings, as the sun sets at 22:30 these days), we go out for walks in what seems to be a very beautiful weather (before you actually experience the burning sun and hot temperatures). This is what I found in one of my trips this week.

This church is called Sainte-Marie-des-Batignolles (only in French, sorry), and it's located in a lovely area called the Batignolles neighborhood, in the 17th Arrondissement. Another lovely spot in that same area is Rue de Lévis - a sweet little market-street, with lovely shops and a wonderful atmosphere. That was definitely a fun walk to be in, and I highly recommend it. Those area are also usually not very toured by visitors, because they're a little farther from the center of Paris, so you can experience some authenticity and the real French atmosphere of a residential neighborhood. Highly recommended.
