Photographs of Amsterdam at Night

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

So,

I had been promising to share with you all some pictures taken by my friend Andrei with his Nikon camera. I am not going to be all super professional and write f-stops and etc. The image you get when you click on the pictures has the exif tags from the original raw images, it has the model number and the exposure duration, ISO, focal length and other photography nerd-porn-things. I am not a photography nerd per se, but I am enjoying working with this.

Some of the photos I took, but mostly they were taken by Andrei.

First some shots of the tram system:

Out on the street, this is on Rozengracht, near the corner of Marnixstraat (the fire station you can see to the back right). Rozengracht has those Rose looking lights on the sides of buildings all the way down. The 9 Streets (Negen Straatjes) also has a permanent light fixture related to the district as well.

Next a bunch of shopfronts from around the place nearby:

A shot of the Palace from Radhuisstraat (continues on from Rozengracht) on the other side than the big square out front where there is often events and carnival things and such:

I forget the name of this street but it continues on from the road beside the Palace due east across the rows of north-south canals in the centre of town. That's the Sensi Seeds shop :)

I will be gradually posting more over the next day or so of other subjects like our friend the park-cat Luna, some attempts at long exposure zooms, a peculiar thing I noticed about my laptop screen in bright sunlight and something else are all upcoming.
