The Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad is a historic 3 ft narrow gauge railroad with two operating steam train locomotives located near Fish Camp, California, in the Sierra National Forest near the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park.

We had an enjoyable experience at the sugar pine railroad. It is located just before the entrance to the Yosemite National Park, off hwy 41. It's an historic adventure and if you love history and enjoy nature this sure is a treat. Though it can be pricey if you have a big family. But makes for a nice day trip, and well worth it at least once.
There is a nice gift shop and museum. Also the staff have plenty of stories to entertain. Even gold panning if you so choose. They do serve some food and even beer. But I would recommend bringing a lunch to eat while you wait for your train, but of course give yourself some time to do so before hand, they have plenty of picnic tables.

Beautiful photos. I love old railroads. We have a great vintage railroad in Grapevine Texas.
Awesome thanks, yea these trains are totally stinking cool, they are very awe inspiring. Grapevine Texas, is that close to Dallas? I think I have been there or at least know of the town. I'm originally from Arkansas. Thanks for your comment.
