Post apocalyptic high fashion w/ @vintagevandalizm and Crystal!

Good evening, fellow brethren. The crypto-beloved. It's been a day. It's been a real day. As I've mentioned in previous blogs here, I make daily notes for potential Steemit posts. They tend to come in furious, manic waves. I take out my phone in parking lots or in line at Chipotle, jotting down a subject I can elaborate on. One I had slated to make a deep dive on was titled “Never powering down”; self explanatory. The last 24 hours may have to scratch that post off the list. 

Late last night I came home from Caffetto coffee shop in uptown, set my MacBook Pro up on my work desk and stared long and hard in to a black screen. I shut down, restarted again and again to the same result. The panic phase began to set in and I jumped to Amazon to order a pentalobe screwdriver and replacement battery, and just then…it turned back when I bumped a key. I hoped it was a fluke, packed up my stuff, and this afternoon I opened my Mac to yet another dead, black screen. As I’m writing this, I’ve since woke it back up but the future is uncertain whether or not this faithful 2012 retina MacBook Pro is long for this world. Twice now, my finger has been hovering over the “Power down” button in my wallet, but at the zero hour before clicking, it came back to life. I’ll be resetting my SMC tomorrow once I can get it open as remove the battery. If this keeps up I may have to pass on the “Never power down” post in exchange for a new MacBook Pro considering I have dozens of clients from Viva Las Vegas waiting on photos.

So, while this thing is illuminated and processing binary requests, I wanted to get a late night blog post in before the midnight hour. This is one is one of my favorites! I’m shocked I haven’t already included these images in a Steemit blog. My best friend and our very own Steemian, @vintagevandalizm and I worked on a collaboration with a mutual friend and adored human being, Crystal. Crystal is a beautiful model, talented artist and musician, and Jane of all trades. We’d talked about shooting together for over a year. The time was last spring and the place was Las Vegas, specifically, Nelson’s Landing.

Nelson’s Landing is this incredible gem about an hour outside of Las Vegas. It’s an attraction with abandoned buildings and vehicles, even an air plane that is simulated to look like it crashed in to the ground. Photographers can pay a fee to shoot there. It was something @vintagevandalizm and I had always talked about doing together. We developed a concept that crosses post-apocalyptic dystopian future with high fashion. @vintagevandalizm did make-up and wardrobe styling for both she and Crystal and we made the drive in to the desert.
