Prada Marfa: Fine art of fake

Prada Marfa is a sculpture made by the artists Elmgreen and Dragset, you can find it on the #road a short drive outside northwest of Valentine, Texas. It was build in 2005 as a fake Prada-shop in the outback of Marfa, a small town nearby. It looks like a real shop - with expensice and ugly bags ans shoes and all this kind of stuff you ever wonder witch kind of people are buying this.

The two artist say the building, made of biodegradable adobe-like substance, should be a surealistic commentary on "western materialism". If you drive along by car, you cannot see this. If you stop, you will wonder, where the sum total of $80,000 - or 40 Prada handbags - gone.
