📷 Iceland. Glymur Falls

in #photography6 years ago (edited)

Looking at the landscapes of Iceland, I always want to go back there. Feel again this space and power of the harsh northern nature. Waterfalls especially affect perception. These huge, powerful streams of water fall down from dizzying heights into the gorge, and this continues a century after a century.

On the photos you can see the Glymur Falls, the second highest in Iceland (196 meters). It has a very deep, narrow and shady canyon covered with green moss, on the walls of which many birds nest and raise chicks like this:

Our trip there instead of 3-4 hours took almost the whole day, so beautiful and pleasant it was to walk there. We even ford the river just above the waterfall — it was cold)

Very beautiful nature!

Oh, yes! Iceland is really amazing, and I miss it)

I hiked there on 7th July. It was truly amazing yes! The weather was a little poor, visibility was low but I still could see it all of its glory.

Nice to hear that and you liked the place too! Really, amazing) Our trip was also slightly gray around. And poor visibility - fog? - probably added even more atmospheric gorge?

Yeah, fog and clouds rolled over us. At some point, the weather cleared enough so I could get some nice photos.
During the walk we got some pouring rain also

Well, what can I say) This is the weather of Iceland!
