📷 Beijing. The Great Wall of China

in #photography6 years ago (edited)

China is a large and ancient country, rich in history and culture. We were there on transit, with the difference between flights about 18 hours. So we decided to watch at least a little the city and, of course, the famous Great Wall of China.

Selected for the trip section of the wall called Mutyanyu. The choice fell on him for two reasons. First: close enough to Beijing, about 80+ kilometers. The second: yet not the closest and most popular, so there it will be possible to push through the crowd of tourists and their continuous flow will not carry you along.

We decided to climb the wall on the elevator. This area is high, and an hour of time to walk on the stairs is pitiful. This is an additional charge to the entrance, but not too large. You can admire the views of the valley sailing under your feet.

And finally, after a short trip, we are there. Here it is, the very wall! One of the greatest man-made structures in the world. On the wall snaking up the slopes of the ribbon there are towers. Closer to the entrance to the wall wherever you look — everywhere there are bright dots of people rush to enjoy a touch of history.

Views from it are very picturesque here. Hills, valleys, spring trees with flowers beginning to blossom. Forested hills, with the removal of becoming silhouettes, go into the fog ... or smog.

You can go down to the entrance, in addition to the elevator and hike up the stairs, on some kind of high-speed sled — they are called "toboggan". Metal chute leading down, with all the bells and bends set by the entertaining genre, single sledges with the simplest control of one lever. It is worth trying — the pleasure is provided) Downstairs we find ourselves very quickly.

Of course, where can we be without numerous souvenirs? Nowhere! But however, it is interesting to look.

Here you can buy anything that is associated with China, its culture in general and the wall in particular. I really liked this raid on the wall.

Thank you!
And - you're welcome)

Nice shots! There's a lot of "wall" talk lately, especially in my country. Maybe they'll decide to build one like the Chinese did. At least it would be attractive!

Thanks!
In USA you mean? Great walls are attractive, but dangerous)
