Polish winter, amazing photos

The snow fell in Poland. A great opportunity to take a long walk to the city pond, frozen solid, and take some photos.

Nice powdery snow. The park near the pond is leafless, but the snow and the sun give it a welcoming aura.

Old stairs, remembering the communist times, lead downwards to the quite revitalized pier. The lake is frozen solid.

I took a risk and stepped onto the ice. The eerie wintersun gives the snow a golden glow.

I turn 180 degrees to take a better-lit photo of snow and ice...

In the distance, a dreaded graveyard, looming above the icesheet, while covered with birch branches.

Wow, somebody made an abominable snowman! In the distance, the heating plant smokestack, and the antique water tower.


Here's another one! A scary thing.

I wouldn't risk taking a stroll on that ice, though.

A view of the apartment buildings, erected a few years back, featuring great views of the lake and park.

And now for some duck galore...



This one's a fast hunter

People were throwing food at them, so they formed a pillaging horde to devour the handouts.

Also, flying rats...


I really wanted to take the closest shot possible, but the ducks just wouldn't pose...

Now, I reached the bridge over the pond with a dam. Enjoying the sun and the view. The color of the water is incredible.


The duck horde is moving in search of more loot...


And I'm leaving the pond and the park.

Also, some shots of the nice buildings on the route back.
