Colourchallenge Tuesdayorange.
For today's challenge, Tuesdayorange by @kalemandra I am submitting a photo of Lucius's eye. He is a Wolf hybrid/Czechoslovakian Wolfdog and has really soulful expressive amber coloured eyes.
He has excellent nocturnal vision also, superior to other dogs due to the reflective layer at the back of his retina from where light is reflected and bounces off onto the cones making use of any existing light no matter how dim.
Photo taken with Sony Xperia Xa.

Great photo @katdvine. Really crisp and clear. You can almost imagine some of the Wolfy thoughts going through Lucius's mind behind that piercing look in his eye. There has been a great series on Sky TV about the dog family tree - 'Dogs: An Amazing Animal Family' - link here. If you ever get a chance to watch it then I urge you to do so. It shows all the amazing canines that are around in the world.
Thank you very much. Lucius is a thinker, a philosopher. He "maps"... scans his domain on a daily basis, checking that everything is perfectly in order. He notices the minutest details out of place; I must mention here that his "domain" encompasses over ten acres that we overlook. He is an observer.
I have never had another dog like him, he seems to be much more wolfy in a lot of ways than Luna who is a pure Czechoslovakian Wolfdog (I guess he is only 3 generations from pure wolf). She is playful and loves fetch and ball games, whereas Lucius feels it's beneath him lol. Their body language is different. They are far more tolerant and social compared with dogs. Fighting and aggression is a last resort. People wrongly think of wolves as extremely vicious animals. They are so family-oriented.
I did see the program you mentioned. very good and informative. Luna watched every minute of it. :D
A great program wasn't it? Interesting about Lucius being more tolerant. I agree that it must be due to the wolf pack mentality and the need for all of them to work together to survive. Might make an interesting post comparing Lucius's behaviour to the others. Take care till next time.
Yep, I am 5ft 6ins. His paws are almost as big as my hands.

WOW the detail on this is incredible and gives an uncanny sense of being watched but I don't mean in a bad way if that makes sense
I think I feel its more a protective look feel that an aggressive feel
Thanks. Lucius is an observer, a watcher. He learns from what he sees. He's a big sweetheart and absolutely not aggressive...unless of course anyone were to threaten one of the pack.....he's my big furry baby. I've had him since he was a small pup, and now he's taller than me when he stands on his hind legs.
:) he sounds so nice and wow that is big
I am 5ft 6ins. His paws are almost the size of my hands.
