Northern Cardinal

This male cardinal is found in South Eastern Canada and the Eastern United
States, and parts of Mexico, and Central America.
It's not unusual to see either a male or female fighting with it's
image in a car mirror or glass reflection. They are fierce defenders
of it's territory.
A favourite among many people due to it's bright red colour, it is......

the state bird of seven different states.
Very popular at backyard feeders, and it doesn't migrate or molt
so the bright red is very appealing with the snowy background.
