Great Blue Heron
Hello Steemians
The great blue heron, a wading bird, it will stand in the shallows waiting for
a fish, amphibian, to pass by. It will hunt in fields as well, eating small
mammals.
Very noticeable in flight, with it's s shape neck and long legs trailing behind.
Found in Southern Canada, most of the US, and even as far as
South America.
Some areas have seen increases in numbers, while a few, such as Florida
has seen a decline.
Nice photo, upvoted and resteemed.

wow! Did you take this shot? I have seen this bird once in Michigan.
Yes I did, thank you.
It is very common in swampy, marshy areas.
They are beauties. I used to recite that the Heron flies with a Hooked neck just to remember what it was versus a crane.
There are quite a few in my area, a little shy usually.
I returned from London the other day, going to post
soon.
