It's worth seeing with your own eyes! The stone forest of Tsingy
Absolutely unique place that cannot be seen anywhere else in the world! This is a real concrete jungle, created by nature over millions of years. No computer technology and 3D printers will not be able to create such a monstrous and fascinating in its scope stone trees, rising a hundred meters up, to the sun.
Tsingy de Bemaraha is the most famous place in Madagascar where you can get a few months out of the year where some to see with your own eyes, especially fly across half of the globe...
Rocky ledges and canyons of the Tsingy de Bemaraha were formed over millions of years mostly under the ground in deep, narrow caves, and monsoon rains have washed away tens of meters of limestone and thick layers of Cretaceous sediments, forming natural bridges, spires and gorges to a depth of 120 meters. By the way, and today, despite the lowering of the water level, the underground rivers continue to change the landscape of caves and cracks in rocky woods, continuing to create new "trees".
To get Scurvy long and difficult. I'm not kidding when I said that to get to this place in just a few months out of the year. The fact that this just is not normal roads. Only primer, which even in the dry season only conditionally travel, and in the rainy season becomes a continuous impassable swamp (the road itself I will tell separately).
Routes through the national Park Tsingy de Bemaraha, located about 400 kilometers West of Antananarivo, the island's capital, will start in the commune of Bekopaka (Bekopaka). To reach Bekopaka only (!!!) in a rented SUV. Or from the city of Morondava (Morondava, 190 kilometers to the South of the reserve) or from the city of Waterford (Antsalova), where planes fly from Antananarivo or Mahajanga.
Guide shows the way a lot of unusual plants. For example, it seems that this tree with a strange trunk. In fact, the barrel had the usual, and everything we see in the photo is the tentacles of the vines, which slowly for years strangling the tree, increasingly embracing it and feeding on its juices.
Before you climb to the top, we have to overcome several caves, including some that are quite narrow and rough. Each member of the group even before the release of wore harnesses with carabiners, in order that it can be strapped to, stretched out over the most dangerous areas cable-railings.
And here it is — the first look at the stone forest of the Tsingy. Every second bursting out of his chest excitable exclamation. The fact that the last few dozen meters in front of the first platform, where you can see the whole scale, rather complicated. Finally, having overcome them, you find yourself in front of the unbelievable beauty!
Selfie in haste from the bridge — and further, to the searing heat to walk over sharp rocks.
Well, after a visual walk...
In the end, a few photos from the National Geographic website, taken with the drone to give you the whole incredible scale of this place.
