(Erawan Shrine)

The brown butterfly told me to go somewhere with positive and holy energy. As I was wondering where I should go, the voice told me that I have not visited the shrine of Lakshmi for several years so it’s about time I returned to the shrine.

I took a bus to Siam Square and walked along the sky-walk towards the main junction where Erawan Shrine (the Shrine of Brahma, in Thai “Phra Prom”) is located at one of the corner of the junction. Opposite Erawan Shrine is Gasorn Plaza, a very posh shopping center full of expensive brands. The shrine is on the fourth floor of Gasorn Plaza, in the court yard surrounded by a nice garden.

There is a sign inviting people to visit the shrine inside the shopping center. On the fourth floor, a staff is always there to point the way to the courtyard outside the building. Today, there are about five people at Lakshmi’s shrine. They had brought flowers and fruits to offer Lakshmi. Lakshmi is a Hindu goddess of wealth, good fortune, youth and beauty. Lakshmi is the wife and Shakti (energy) of Vishnu, the Hindu god who has the duty of looking after and protecting the earth.

I have no idea why the owners of one of the most luxurious shopping center would have put a Hindu shrine of Lakshmi on the fourth floor. Logically, it could be surmised that the owners want to have good fortune, wealth and success in their business. I didn’t go there specifically to pray for wealth, but I know that a shrine like this is bound to have lots of energy. There has been a lot of good intention in building such a high power shrine and people who got involved in the process had to go through purification ceremonies.

To me, this is so logical and reasonable, as all actions and thoughts or energies which have been put into this shrine have been tremendous; especially if they had very righteous and spiritual monks or brahmas involved in the ceremonies. Of course, the levels or strength of energy will fluctuate and change through time. People who own the place, live in that place and people who visit that place will bring their energies to affect the original foundation of energy. That’s why some amulets which used to protect people will not always work the same way as in the past. It is vital to maintain the purity of the energy of such a holy place.

The atmosphere and surrounding in the courtyard is very calm and peaceful in contrast to the fact that this complex is among busy shopping centers, hotels, and the busy roads. Those people who come to pay respect behave in a very humble and nice manner. Perhaps they could feel the vibrations or energy from the statue of Lakshmi. I was very happy to be there, it is like a breath of fresh air or a wave of new energy coming over me. The weather is just nice and the sky is bright. Lakshmi’s face was always smiling and glancing at me quite often, as if asking me whether I was there just to take her photo. I eventually paid respect to the lovely Goddess Lakshmi and thanked her for all her kindness.

There is also another shrine of the Guardian of the four directions of the earth, at the other end of the courtyard, most people do not know about this. This Guardian has four faces, for the directions of north, south, east and west. He has traditional weapons in each hand but his face is very nice and gentle. I did not get much energy from this Guardian statue which may be quite a new addition to the courtyard. I shall have to inquire about this matter later as I also want to check my own capability of energy assessment of the place.

This has been a very good afternoon considering lots of negative events are taking place around the world and lots of bad people are plotting more dark moves. I am very grateful to the brown butterfly and those at the Lakshmi’s shrine today.

Wishing you peace, good health and prosperity.

Cheers.

Beautiful. What a contrast, the spiritual statures and those modern architecture. Please tell us more about the brown butterfly.

Thank you very much @johano. The brown butterfly is in the post below! It's very kind of you to ask about him. He is gone now, I hope he did find a nice tree. Bangkok and Thai people are full of contradictions, they defeat all definitions!

I don't like hindu architectue but this was not bad!

Thank you for stopping by my post.

The shrine of Lakshmi is beautiful though something attracted me more to the Guardian. I must say I find it very strange to have the shrine in a shopping centre. I don't like shopping centres in general, especially expensive ones, as they feel they have no soul.

This place is quite unique. Inside Gasorn Plaza, you could hear the 'loud' silence! The energy is very different from other shopping centers which I refuse to visit.

Both shrine and deities are very potent with some high level energy. Lakshmi's energy is more gentle and warm. The Guardian is very gentle and strong at the same time.

By the way, Thai people believe there are spirits living on each piece of land, these could be people' spirits from time past or other high level angels, fairies or even homeless souls. So, we always have spirits' house for them on the land. All shopping centers in Thailand must have spirits' houses, otherwise they won't help to attract customers!!

I think that sounds lovely. It helps to surround ourselves with any source of happy energy.
