Chinese gods and art objects : a tour of the cultural center at Amarin Plaza
Dear friends,
This is my tour of another section at the cultural center in Amarin Plaza, next to the Hyatt hotel in Bangkok. Some readers may have seen my previous post on the Indian Art section. This place is full of wonderful colours, big and small curiosity-objects whether religious or cultural. The quiet ambience makes the walk very peaceful and enjoyable. There are many museum pieces and real antiques on show in one section.
The Chinese section is half full with feng shui objects and tools, the other half is full with large and small statues of Chinese gods and goddesses. Being Chinese art-objects, they are mostly in gold and red colours! These colours and the lighting make it very difficult for me to take good pictures with my small Canon IXUS185, besides my zero photographic training.
I do hope you'll enjoy these pictures. These are quite different from the brass images of the Indian gods.
