A beautiful spring day in the Velencei mountains - Part two
Velencei mountains are the oldest mountains, built of 300 million years old granite. There are some smaller caves inside these rocks, but they are not similar to carsted limestone caves. The longest cave is 14 meters long. Granite is a hard, granulated volcanic rock, that erodates layer-by-layer (like onion-shells).
There are no sharp edges, all are rounded, that's why we call these rocks "woolbags".
The biggest rock formation of this area is Pandúr-kő, which is in a hidden place in the woods.
There were many tourists (about 50) around the rocks yesterday and it needed patience to take photos without people. I was not happy with it, because they spoke loudly and jumped from rock to rock, which is very dangerous. I think this is a sacred area where unnecessary speech and climbing the rocks are not allowed. A short period of time when no one is there is very rare. I was frustrated and became angry when a drone appeared just 20 meters above my head, and I decided to leave the rocks.
To be continued!
